Andrea Lehmann has an MA in Social Anthropology from the University of Edinburgh and an MA in the History of Art from the Courtauld Institute in London where she took the special option 'Art and Cultural Politics in Germany 1890-1945'. For her MA dissertations she undertook research on museums and the repatriation of ethnographic collections, focusing on Australia, and on the Brussels exile of the artist Felix Nussbaum.
Andrea Lehmann has specialist knowledge of early 20th century German art and history and the anthropology of art, and expertise in looted art acquisition and restitution issues. In addition to her mother tongue German she speaks English, French, Spanish, Portugese and Russian.
